![]() ![]() That part after the nav beacons is the only break there is because the paranid says it will take a long time to study the gate, I actually assumed that was a subtle "call to action", that docking there would advance the story again, but subtlety is not in their repetoire, because right at the start boso tells you to come talk to him *when you have time*, so naturally you'll go there as soon as that natural break in the main story appearsĪnd the absolute first thing he does before you even have a chance to dock is tell you to go scan something, if you don't already know what the boso quests look like, you might assume it's not even related to the main quest, it's butt-easy, just scan three spots in the sector and that now advances the story with SUPER URGENT IMPORTANT INFORMATION THAT MUST BE DELIVERED ASAP once again demolishing your immersion if you decide to engage with the sandbox and as a result the story feels rushed as frick So every time you decide to dick around in the sandbox you get massive ludonarrative dissonance which makes any game awful to play That's one of my main gripes with this storyline, there's basically no natural breaks, everything is SUPER URGENT, you must do the next thing RIGHT NOW, HURRY UP no, it CAN'T WAIT ![]() He literally says they'll take years before you can even dock with him
